Audio Parenting Help

I've been doing pretty well in the patience department with Emma, and perhaps it's also that she's easing up on me too, maybe a combo of both? All I know is that there's been a nice respite from difficulty, I haven't lost my temper in days, and our home life has been pretty peaceful. My husband is working on his own inner peace, perhaps this is helping us all coexist more peacefully as well.

I recently purchased the Peaceful Parenting tape from here, and while the technical quality of the tape is shoddy, listening to the words I often read in an audio format during frenzied parts of my day really helps, so I've ordered some more spoken word things, which I'll write about as I listen to them. The thing with parenting & mindful living books is that I usually read them in the evenings while the kids are sleeping, and try to internalize the messages that I find useful or appropriate. What is more useful and appropriate, is to hear those words when I am in the actual trenches of parenting, life, and the stresses that both offer on a daily basis. I think I will recommend this option of audio Cd's and tapes to other parents I know who wish to learn to control their tempers.

SusieJ recommended certain Cd's for relaxation, and one tip she offered me is to play relaxation tapes for my children to help them wind down at night, and she provided the names of a couple of such discs available that are geared specifically to children. How brilliant is that? I've blown the budget on things like books and Cd's for this current month, but I'll be trying her suggested recordings soon enough.
